Course Description
This NAT Diploma course is presented by Dr. Joi Edwards and is suited to therapists with or without experience in cupping.
With 3.5 hours of video tutorials and course texts, the material covers; History and Evolution of Cupping, Safety and How Cupping Works, Theories and Physiology, Cupping Care, Assessment Lab, Cupping Techniques and Application and Specific Injury Application.
Cupping treatment is included for the following conditions;
Plantar fasciitis; Ankle sprain; Patella tendonitis; Knee surgery; Knee ligament strain; ITB syndrome; Hip bursitis; Peroneal tendonitis; Piriformis syndrome; Hamstring strain
Course objectives
- Demonstrate the correct way to apply and remove cups during treatment
- Explain ways to increase suction in case of poor adherence
- Compare the difference between cupping marks and bruises
- Identify contraindications and cupping precautions to cupping therapy
- List the differences between static and dynamic cupping
- Understand when and why discoloration occurs
- Explain how cupping therapy affects pathological tissue
