Das Kubitaltunnelsyndrom (CTS) wird manchmal als „Funny Bone“-Syndrom bezeichnet, aber an einem traumatisierten Ulnarisnerv ist nichts Lustiges
Der N. ulnaris ist einer der drei Schlüsselnerven, die Arm, Handgelenk und Hand mit Empfindung und Kraft versorgen.
Der Nervus ulnaris befindet sich in einer leicht gefährdeten Position in der Cubital Fossa, wo er traumatisiert werden kann; sogar das Sitzen und Anlehnen der Ellbogen an Armlehnen oder einem Schreibtisch kann dazu ausreichen.
Jede intensive körperliche Aktivität, die Druck auf den Nerv ausübt, kann CTS verursachen, manchmal einschließlich abnormalem Knochenwachstum in der Ellenbogenregion.
CTS (Ulnar-Neuropathie) ist eine Erkrankung, die durch Kompression des N. ulnaris verursacht wird, oft durch Bindegewebe oder Knochen, aber manchmal funktionell durch Triggerpunkte (insbesondere in den Muskeln Flexor Carpi Radialis und Ulnaris).
Wenn sich ein Triggerpunkt entwickelt, wird der Wirtsmuskel kürzer, dicker und weniger effizient. Da Muskeln zu 75 % aus Wasser bestehen und sich Wasser nicht gut komprimieren lässt, schwellen sie funktionell an, was oft zu einem straffen Band führt, das weitere Druckwirkungen auf das lokale Gewebe haben kann.
Jede Veränderung der Schulter-, Handgelenk- oder Ellbogenmechanik im Laufe der Zeit kann sich in Bereichen verspannter Muskeln manifestieren, in denen sich Triggerpunkte entwickeln können.
Frauen haben eine etwas andere Ellenbogenanatomie als Männer. Bei Männern sind die Arme gerader; Frauen haben einen größeren „Tragewinkel“, um zu vermeiden, dass sie ihre Hände an ihr breiteres Becken stoßen.
Frauen haben auch einen 2- bis 19-mal höheren Fettgehalt am inneren Ellbogen, der über dem lustigen Knochenvorsprung liegt (dem ulnaren Coronoid-Prozess). Dieser größere Tragwinkel scheint das Auftreten von CuTS zu verringern. CuTS ist 3-8 mal häufiger bei Männern.
