Live Webinar Series
Infant Development 0–3 Months
Developmental Milestones, Sensory Maturation & Supportive Clinical Practice
Presented by Rebecca Hall ATC, LAT, LMT • 5 CE Hours
The first three months of life represent a critical period of neurological, sensory, physical, and relational development.
This course provides healthcare professionals and manual therapists with a comprehensive overview of early infant development during the first three months of life, emphasizing developmental milestones, sensory maturation, emergent movement patterns, primitive reflex integration, feeding biomechanics, sleep-wake cycles, and supportive clinical practices.
Participants will examine foundational concepts related to neonatal neurological and physical development, while also exploring the critical role of caregiver-infant interaction, bonding, sensory processing, and family-centered clinical communication.
Educational content is presented in an evidence-informed, interdisciplinary format designed for continuing education. The course explicitly addresses safety, red flags, ethical communication, referral pathways, and the boundaries of supportive care so practitioners can apply foundational insights safely and effectively within their own scope of practice.

What This Webinar Covers
This course explores early infant development from 0–3 months, including developmental milestones, neonatal neurological development, physical development, sensory maturation, emergent movement patterns, primitive reflex integration, sleep-wake cycles, feeding biomechanics, sensory processing, caregiver-infant bonding, and supportive clinical observation.
The curriculum also addresses safety, developmental red flags, ethical communication, caregiver education, timely referral pathways, and the professional boundaries of supportive care.
Learning Experience
Participants will engage in evidence-informed teaching, clinical discussion, observation-based learning, case examples, reflective activities, and practical frameworks designed to strengthen clinical reasoning.
Particular emphasis is placed on developing observation and communication skills. Practitioners will learn how to recognize typical early developmental patterns, identify concerns that may require closer monitoring or referral, and communicate appropriately with caregivers.
The course defines the boundaries of supportive care, helping practitioners understand how to apply early developmental knowledge safely, ethically, and within their respective scope of practice.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion, participants should have a stronger understanding of early infant development during the first three months of life, including neurological development, sensory maturation, feeding biomechanics, movement emergence, reflex integration, and caregiver-infant interaction.
Participants will also develop greater confidence in observing infant movement, regulation, sensory responses, bonding, and developmental participation while recognizing red flags that may require referral.
The course further aims to strengthen ethical clinical communication, caregiver education, and safe supportive practice within clearly defined professional boundaries.
