Remedial Massage Cupping
Presented by Rebecca “Becky” Tyler OST SMT PT
Learn how to integrate remedial massage cupping into modern soft tissue practice using movement-oriented, clinically adaptable and client-centred treatment approaches.
Remedial Massage Cupping is a practical and professionally presented online course designed for therapists who want to expand their hands-on treatment skills while developing a deeper understanding of decompression-based soft tissue therapy.
Rather than presenting cupping as a rigid or isolated modality, this course explores how cups can be integrated naturally into modern remedial massage and rehabilitation-focused treatment sessions. The emphasis throughout is on movement, tissue glide, treatment flow, client comfort and clinical reasoning.
Presented by experienced Osteopath, soft tissue therapist and educator Rebecca “Becky” Tyler, the course combines practical demonstrations with thoughtful clinical application. Becky’s broad professional background in osteopathy, sports massage, movement therapy and work with high-level athletes shapes a calm, adaptable and highly practical approach to treatment.
More Than Just Cup Placement
This course focuses on how to think about cupping clinically — including movement, pressure selection, pacing, tissue response and treatment integration — rather than simply memorizing routines.
Throughout the training, you will explore static, dynamic and movement-based cupping techniques and learn how decompression-based approaches differ from more traditional compressive soft tissue treatment methods.
The course also explores how cupping may support movement quality, tissue mobility and overall treatment comfort when integrated thoughtfully into upper body and lower body treatment sessions.
What You’ll Explore
The training covers static and dynamic cupping applications, movement-based treatment strategies, tissue glide concepts, pressure control, treatment pacing, communication and client comfort, upper and lower body applications, and the integration of cupping into broader remedial massage and rehabilitation-focused treatment planning.
Included with the course is an illustrated workbook and companion learning materials designed to reinforce the practical demonstrations and strengthen understanding of the clinical principles behind the techniques.
As the course progresses, the emphasis shifts increasingly toward observation, adaptability and treatment reasoning. Rather than relying on force-based intervention, therapists are encouraged to develop calmer, more responsive approaches that help clients move more comfortably and confidently overall.
Who This Course Is For
This course is ideal for massage therapists, remedial massage practitioners, physiotherapists, physical therapists, athletic trainers, sports therapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, Doctors of Chiropractic and other qualified professionals who want to integrate decompression-based treatment more confidently into movement-oriented clinical practice.
By the end of the course, participants should feel more confident integrating remedial cupping into real-world treatment sessions using approaches that prioritize safety, communication, movement quality and adaptable clinical reasoning.
