Equine Acupressure Foundations – Level 1 & Level 2 Bundle

Deepen your ability to support horses with safe, effective acupressure – from the very first touch assessment to more advanced point selection and session planning.

This bundle brings together Equine Acupressure Foundations – Level 1 and Equine Acupressure Foundations – Level 2, created in partnership with Tallgrass Animal Acupressure and presented by their expert team. Across both levels, you’ll build a solid grounding in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as it applies to horses, then step confidently into more advanced meridian theory, source points, and practical protocols you can use in real-world equine care.

Whether you’re an equine massage or bodywork professional, a therapist expanding into animal work, or a dedicated horse owner who wants to do more for your horse’s wellbeing, this bundle offers a structured, progressive pathway that you can revisit again and again.

What’s Inside the Bundle

Level 1 – Foundations

Level 1 gives you the essential language, principles, and hands-on skills you need to begin using equine acupressure safely and meaningfully. You’ll explore core TCM concepts such as Qi, yin–yang theory, and the meridian system, and see how they relate to the horse’s anatomy, behaviour, and overall health.

Through clear video demonstrations and a detailed workbook, you’ll learn how to locate and work with key acupoints, how to perform a basic assessment, and how to use simple, safe protocols that can be integrated into a general wellness routine or combined with other manual therapies.

Level 2 – Deeper Study and Practical Protocols

Level 2 takes you further into the art and science of equine acupressure. Building directly on the foundations from Level 1, you’ll dive into:

  • Yin–yang organ pairs and their functions

  • Zang–fu theory and how internal organ patterns present on the surface of the body

  • The pathways and functions of the main meridians

  • Source points, master points, and their role in clinical decision-making

You’ll follow the instructor through case-based examples, assessment sequences, and step-by-step protocols for common patterns such as respiratory issues, low-back stiffness, emotional imbalance, and performance-related tension. By the end of Level 2, you’ll have a clearer sense of how to think like a TCM-informed practitioner while keeping the horse’s comfort and safety at the centre of your work.

What You’ll Learn

Across both courses, you’ll develop:

  • A clear understanding of core TCM principles as they apply specifically to horses

  • Confidence in locating and working with key acupoints and meridians on the equine body

  • A step-by-step approach to assessment using observation, palpation, and case history

  • Safe, effective acupressure techniques you can integrate with massage, stretching, and other bodywork

  • Practical point combinations and protocols for supporting common issues such as respiratory patterns, musculoskeletal tension, low-back discomfort, and stress-related behaviours

  • A deeper appreciation of the horse’s energetic and physical systems, and how your intention and touch can influence both

Meet Your Instructors

The Equine Acupressure Foundations series is developed in collaboration with Tallgrass Animal Acupressure, long-recognised for their pioneering work in animal acupressure education. The courses feature Tallgrass founders and senior instructors, bringing together decades of experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine, equine anatomy, behaviour, and hands-on practice with real horses.

Their teaching style is practical, down-to-earth, and rooted in respect for the horse. You’ll see not only where the points are and how to work them, but also how to read subtle changes in posture, breath, and expression so you can adjust your touch and timing appropriately.

This two-course bundle is ideal for:

  • Equine massage therapists and bodyworkers

  • Manual therapists, physical therapists, and rehabilitation professionals who work with horses

  • Equine trainers, riders, and coaches interested in holistic performance support

Whether you’re just starting out with acupressure or you already have some experience and want a more structured pathway, the progression from Level 1 to Level 2 helps you build skill and confidence step by step.

How You Can Use These Skills

The knowledge and techniques from this bundle can be used to:

  • Support general wellbeing and relaxation for leisure and competition horses

  • Complement veterinary and conventional care (never replace it)

  • Help manage stress and emotional imbalance through calming, regulatory point work
