Upper Body Release
Live Webinar Series
Upper Body Release
Tracking Tension Through Fascia, Muscle and Connective Tissue
Presented by Maureen Abson • 5 CE/CPD Hours
Upper body tension is rarely isolated to a single structure. What appears to be a tight shoulder, restricted neck, aching upper back, or uncomfortable arm may be part of a broader pattern involving fascia, muscle, and connective tissue throughout the upper body.
In this practical two-part webinar series, Maureen Abson explores how therapists can identify, follow, and address these patterns more effectively. Drawing on decades of clinical experience and her Fusion Massage Technique approach, Maureen demonstrates how fascial release and soft tissue techniques can be combined to create more comprehensive treatment strategies.
Rather than focusing solely on the site of symptoms, participants will learn to view the upper body as an interconnected system and develop a broader clinical perspective when assessing and treating common presentations.

Session Content
Session One: Warm-Up, Fascial Release, Hands and Arms
The first session introduces effective warm-up and fascial release techniques while exploring how tension can be traced through interconnected tissues. Practical demonstrations focus on the hands and arms, supported by discussion and participant questions.
Session Two: Back, Shoulders and Neck
The second session examines how tension patterns influence the back, shoulders, and cervical region. Participants will explore common compensatory relationships and learn practical treatment strategies designed to address the upper body as a functional whole.
What You Will Learn
Throughout this webinar series, participants will develop a deeper understanding of how tension patterns travel through fascia and connective tissues. The course explores practical release strategies, effective warm-up techniques, and methods for integrating fascial and soft tissue approaches into clinical practice.
By the conclusion of the program, attendees should feel more confident identifying interconnected patterns of restriction, planning treatment sessions more effectively, and applying a broader clinical perspective when working with upper body dysfunction.
